Your neck is not likely to be a major concern when you’re younger, so make the most of it! Under chin laxity and neck issues don’t tend to appear until your late 30s. Neck lines are horizontal lines or bands that go across your neck and are sometimes also called necklace lines. Neck treatments at this age are often done prior to an event, for example, I treat many younger clients who have requested neck treatments before a wedding or civil partnership.
Forties & Fifties
The skin starts to gradually lose elasticity and collagen and this is what leads to sagging, wrinkles and skin thinning. Botox into the neck can soften neck bands, and Nurse Sue offers Aqualayx to treat stubborn pockets of fat. Turkey neck or saggy neck is also common as collagen and elastin decrease and this is a very common issue clients consult me about, Profhilo is a very successful treatment for this in both the neck and décolletage.

Connective tissue ligaments and tendons in the neck can lose elasticity and strength as we age, which contributes to a decrease in overall neck support. The neck has a much thinner layer of skin than your face, so ageing can look more pronounced in this area, and clients often come to me with marked differences in their face and neck tone. Working out a neck plan is something I do a lot, so don’t feel you are the only one with this issue, I see it a lot at the clinic.
